Another Mercedes Benz takes last place today in our line-up of sporty convertible cars fit for summer and this one is the biggest of the bunch. The Mercedes C Class Cabriolet is not so much a sports-convertible (like the two above) but, more a luxury convertible with a sporty edge. This AMG Line model not only looks the part but also boasts the most practical presence in our line-up. A large boot, room to seat 4 comfortably, Grand Tourer appeal and luxurious interior would have you believe that you are sitting in one of Mercedes flagship models and you certainly are with the C Class Convertible. The 2.2 litre Diesel engine is almost the same as what you’d find in the SLC above, but with a little less BHP at 170 BHP. Combined with the heavier chassis of the C Class she can muster 64 MPG (extra urban) and a respectable 0-62 time of 8.2 seconds. The Mercedes C Class convertible wouldn’t look out of place anywhere from the French Riviera to the Birmingham highstreets and when you look this good, speed isn’t everything.
