Thanks to our local Manchester colleague for bringing their new Scuba Blue (metallic paint) Audi A4 Diesel Avant 2.0 TDI Ultra Sport 5dr Manual to our premises for the CarLease UK team to review.
The new Audi A4 is a definite improvement on the previous model; the predecessor really fell behind the comparable BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C Class. We found that customers would choose an Audi A3 or Audi A6 instead.
In addition to the aesthetic improvements (the car is more angular and structured), Audi have made big improvements to the basic level of specification with the models. For the “Sport” line, which is the middle of the range, you get some handsome specification such as:
• Parking system plus;
• Cruise control;
• LED interior pack;
• 10 speaker Audi sound system;
• SD card Navigation;
• 3 zone climate control;
• Keyless start;
• Thatcham 1 alarm; and
• Xenon headlights; and
• 17” Alloy Wheels.
If you want the more aggressive styling, you need to upgrade to the S-Line which will offer:
• 18” x 8J ‘5-twin-spoke Star’ design alloy wheels;
• LED headlights with LED rear lights and dynamic rear indicators;
• S line exterior styling pack; and
• Front Sport seats with S embossed logo.
From an engine perspective, there are ample choices with 2.0 and 3.0 litre diesel derivatives plus the 1.4 and 2.0 petrols.
The big question, is whether you would choose this over the BMW 3 Series Tourer or the Mercedes C Class Estate?
