Ford has announced in the US that it will be recalling nearly 500,000 cars, worldwide, for wok to fix a possible fuel leak.
The fuel delivery system has been shown to occasionally lease and of course therefore could pose a fire risk. So far no fires have resulted from the 600 reported complaints but clearly Ford are taking it very seriously.
The firm said a fuel delivery module in the affected cars could leak and may result in a fire in the presence of an ignition source.
Ford said it had received 600 consumer complaints about the problem but there had been no reports of any fires, accidents or injuries.
Most models are affected but they are all from 2013 model year. Most though are in the US, with only 80,000 being in Europe.
