Is the Jaguar XF under threat from the new BMW 5 Series
The heat is definitely on Jaguar in the premium/executive saloon segment. The car shown here, the Jaguar XF Diesel Saloon 2.0d [180] R-sport 4Dr Auto, which we delivered to a company car allowance driver, is a striking example of an amazing car. However, with big competition from the Mercedes E Class, Audi A6 and now, the new BMW 5 Series, customers have an unenviable choice of cars to choose from.
The Jag XF has to be one of the leading cars both for specification and aesthetics. Moving away from the “old-man” image which we often hear from potential customers, Jaguar have produced a car which is sleek, efficient and stylish. All generations of driver, younger and older, can appreciate this car for what it is.
In terms of build, the customer, based in Portsmouth, went for the following configuration:
Glacier White Metallic Paint
Taurus leather – Jet/red
18″ 10 spoke gloss black helix alloy wheels
Gloss black veneer
Jet morzine headlining
As a standard car, you get a great level of features as standard including 18” 10 spoke alloy wheels, interior mood lighting, heated front seats, InControl navigation, climate control, Bi-Xenon headlights, carpet mates and Taurus Leather. Some customers add factory options such as privacy glass, black pack and the surround camera system to make this the ideal car.
While no one can dispute the stylish efforts of the Jaguar, the new BMW 5 series is definitely a car to behold. Inspired by the luxury of the BMW 7 Series coupled with the sporty influence of a 4 series, the latest generation of 5 series is set to hit the market very soon and BMW are keen for this to be the best luxury saloon you can lease in 2017.
Do you think Jaguar will be concerned?
