To facilitate an effective handover of every lease car, we communicate with customers circa 6 months before the contract end date to ensure that they receive proper notification. We also want to give customers the opportunity to make the necessary preparations to return their vehicle.
If you are one of our customers, you should receive an email similar to one set out below:

Just a quick update to inform you that your vehicle has now only six months remaining on its contract. As such, there are a few things for you to consider before the vehicle is returned, in particular:
· Servicing/Maintenance – whether or not the vehicle has been covered with a funder-maintenance package, please ensure that you have serviced and maintained the vehicle correctly before it is returned;
· Tyres – please ensure that the tyres have been changed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and that the vehicle will be returned with the tyres in the proper condition;
· MOT – depending upon the length of your agreement, please ensure that the vehicle has been issued with an MOT certificate.
Additionally, the BVRLA has made available to the public a fair wear and tear policy which our administration team can send to you upon request or which can be found at the following link (this is well worth a quick review) –
As some manufacturers may have lead times of several months, it would now be practical to start planning your next vehicle. We do hope that you enjoyed your experience with us last time and so would welcome you to contact us, so that we can discuss your requirements. Efficient planning at this stage in the process allows the collection of your existing vehicle/delivery of the new vehicle to be as seamless as possible for you. Please note that the returning of your vehicle is your responsibility and while we will work in conjunction with you to arrange its return, you do need to contact us in order to arrange this. Any charges you incur for operating beyond the contract term will be payable by you.
The collection process will vary from funder to funder and so we can assist you through the procedure over the coming months. However, please remember that until your vehicle is collected (and effectively de-hired), you need to ensure that a comprehensive vehicle insurance policy is in place. In addition, please retain all paperwork that you have received from the funder (as we do not receive copies) and ensure that the handbook (including the service record), MOT Certificate and keys (all sets) are available to hand over to the collection driver.
