Our first thanks goes to our existing business leasing customer, based in Paisley (Scotland), for sending pictures of their new car – the Volkswagen Golf Hatchback 2.0 TSi 310R 5 Door 4Motion DSG.
At the heart of the CarLease UK business are our renewal customers; the individuals and businesses who use our services at the end of the 2/3/4 year contract. In this situation, it was very satisfying to collect the customer’s vehicle in the morning and in the afternoon arrange the delivery of their new vehicle.
Very kindly, the customer took some photographs of the delivery aspect of the process which helps provide future customers with some idea as to how lease cars are delivered.
There are principally two ways in which a car can be delivered to a customer:
1) Driven delivery – in almost all cases it is presumed that the vehicle will be driven to the home or business address of the customer. Our designated supplying dealer will organise an employee, or third party, to physically drive the vehicle to the customer.
2) Transported delivery – in exceptional cases a vehicle will be transported to the customer so that it arrives without having been driven. The car will arrive on either big transporter (along with a number of other cars) or it will be driven on a low loader, so that only one vehicle is present. Some of the supplying dealers that we work with do offer transported delivery as standard, so that there are no additional costs to the customer. However, in many cases there will be an additional cost, generally in the region of £300 plus Vat, in order to arrange a transported delivery.
In terms of the car shown, Volkswagen Golf Hatchback 2.0 TSi 310R 5 Door 4Motion DSG (auto), the customer elected for the following configuration:
· Race Cloth – Titan Black
· 18″ Cadiz Alloy Wheels
The “R” is very much the elite within the Golf range, sitting above the 230ps GTI. As standard, the car includes discover navigation, LED headlights, heat insulated glass, winter pack (heated seats and washer nozzles), cloth upholstery, sports seats, 18” alloys, rain sensing wipers, red brake callipers, lowered sports suspension, adaptive cruise control, 8” touch screen, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, alarm with interior protection, pre-crash system, mirror pack, convenience pack, ambient lighting, stainless steel pedals, LED lights, twin exhausts, DAB radio and colour coded exterior features. For the perfect car, consider the following additional factory options – rear view camera, 90% tinted glass, Vienna leather and 19” alloy wheels.
So would the Golf R be your choice of fast hatchback or would you go for one of the alternatives with the BMW 140i,
