A thank you to our personal leasing customer, from Bournemouth, for sending through pictures of their new car – the Honda HR-V DIESEL HATCHBACK 1.6 i-DTEC EX 5door Manual.
We don’t supply huge volumes of Honda, which seems to have become a more niche product over the last 5 years or so, so it is nice to fully appreciate what our customers’ vehicles look like when they are delivered.
As a credit broker, we effectively sit in-between the finance company (we operate alongside a select number of finance companies) and the manufacturer (we work with a select number of dealer groups). What this means, is that we rarely see or touch the product which arrives with our customer, as we never hold physical stock on our premises. The prices advertised on our website can originate from any number of the finance companies so if you do want to know more about a particular vehicle, just let the team know.
As more and more people pursue contact hire and leasing as their choice of vehicle procurement, we find that customers are becoming more familiar with the nuts and bolts of the product. One of the distinguishing factors of contract hire is that it is not a purchase-style product. This is not something which you should enter into if you are considering about purchasing the vehicle at the end of the contract; many finance companies simply prohibit this.
This is very much about using a car, or van, for a predetermined amount of time (2, 3 or 4 years), with a view to this vehicle being collected once the contract has finished. Additionally, this is not a flexible contract, in that you do not have the option to amend or upgrade the vehicle during the course of the contract. This is a fixed term agreement, which you must complete or early terminate. In the latter case, you will be provided with a cost from the chosen finance company for returning the vehicle; this is often an amount which is equivalent to half of the remaining rentals.
This is more pertinent when you are choosing the length of contract on your new vehicle. If you consider that you might want to change your vehicle more often, do not choose a longer 3 or 4 year contract term. If you are practical about the contract you choose, this is more likely to meet your needs and requirements.
In terms of the car shown here, the Honda HRV EX diesel SUV, this is based on the following configuration:
· Ruse black Metallic Paint
· 17″ alloy wheels
· Leather – Black
As standard the car includes rain sensing wipers, privacy glass, hill start assist, stability assist, Bluetooth, cruise control, front/rear parking sensors, collision warning, rear view camera, traffic sign recognition, navigation, 7” touch screen, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, body coloured externals, LED headlights and brake lights, climate control, leather upholstery, ;leather steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, heated front seats and 17” alloys. Like many manufacturers, Honda do not allow many additional factory options to keep the process simple. They have a range of additional “packs” which includes the robust pack, premium pack, illumination pack and aero pack.
On the technical-side, company car drivers can note the P11d of £27,190.00 and CO2 at 108 g/km for a standard car. The 1597CC 6 speed manual engine delivers 68.9 combined MPG, 120ps and 0-62 times of 10.5 seconds.
So would the Honda HRV, which is essentially a compact crossover/ SUV, be your leasing option? Or would you select one of the great alternatives which is on offer to you – Peugeot 2008, Vauxhall Crossland X, Seat Arona or the new Volvo XC-40?
