VW is beginning to release specs of the ID all-electric vehicles
VW are targeting late 2019 in Europe and early 2020 for a full launch of the first of their all-electric vehicle.
The ID Crozz is a direct replacement for VW’s own Tiguan range and its technology and platform will pave the way for the Microbus and the ID Golf, both of which are not expected until 2021.
The ID Cross is expected to launch with an 83 kwh battery for a range of 200 miles with a larger battery to follow with a 300 mile range.
Both will feature charge rates that allow 80% charge in 30 minutes.
The drivetrain has been designed to with absolute reliability in mind. The front wheels will be powered by a 101 hp motor and the rear wheels by a 201 hp motor. They can act independently or together for if traction is needed. The front motor will have a drive system that can freewheel or regenerate the batteries.
