As a result of its ultra-cheap fuel, Luxembourg gets thousands of visits from EU nationals trying to save a few cents filling up their tanks. As it shares a border with Germany, many will be driving high performance cars and are used to higher speed limits and as a result, the police of Luxembourg need something to keep up with these flying machines…
But at only 60 miles from end to end and 30 miles wide, their police patrols rarely cover more than 100 miles per day.
Enter the perfect car, the Tesla S and with Luxembourg at the forefront of Europe’s push to be green,it seems to be the answer. Add to this the fact that Luxembourg has charge points dotted at most of its busy fuel stations should they be needed, it seems like the obvious answer for the Grand Duchey.
In fact, Model S makes a superb Police car, with two boots and a completely flat floor for loading everything that a modern police car has to carry, with the added benefit of near silent operation. Build quality, reliability and practicality boxes are all ticked.
It just remains to be signed off by government before we see them on the road.
