Over the last 2 – 3 months, CarLease UK premises have been undergoing huge redevelopment as electrics, cabling, networking and office structure have been completely changed.
For any internet based business, electronic infrastructure is absolutely crucial. As the business grows, you soon begin to understand its capabilities (and weaknesses). With a team of nearly 20 at CarLease UK, the premises definitely needed upgrading and with the help of local fantastic tradespeople listed below (many of whom worked through the night), the offices have been completely re-designed to accommodate the business growth:
· GAM Electrical – based in Skelmersdale;
· SJC Joinery and Building – based in Hindley (Wigan);
· Techsure – based in Bolton; and
· Brian King Flooring – based in Wigan.
As part of the development, it was noted that there were considerable amounts of surplus chairs, desks, cupboards and other office materials. Much of this was in very good condition. Having seen an article in St Helens Star, we connected with a local charity ‘Teardrops’ based in the St Helens area who specialise in assisting homeless people. The charity’s mission is to provide opportunities and solutions to homeless people in order for them to integrate into modern society through a skills programme, regular housing and a 12 month support programme after being housed.
Within a week of notifying the charity as to our office redevelopment, a team from FareShare arrived to collect an eclectic mix of desks, chairs, toilet rolls, extension leads and tables. It is fulfilling to know that these items can be put to good use and that these will serve as an investment into people who need assistance with their life. Without a doubt, there is a disagreeable gap between the rich and poor in UK society and we as individuals and businesses must do what we can to provide opportunities to those who need them.
Go to the website and take a look at their wishlist on The Hub. They still need many basic items such as cutlery and crockery in order to provide their services. Please invest into this charity and help the homeless to get back on track.
