Already a popular car, the C3 has had its range extended by introducing the 1.2 VTi 82 VTR+ manual. The engine is taken straight out its big sister the Peugeot 208, but less weight to lug around and better aerodynamics, the C3 feels like an altogether lighter, faster car. The 1.4 C3 will be phased out as this 3 cylinder takes its place, and its not really surprising, nearly 70mpg and 107g/km CO2 is really good for a petrol unit. That means a company car tax of only 13% . As a private or business car leasing option, it makes great little car even more tempting.
The small but powerful petrol is a modern thing in car engines and its no wonder. Petrol is now the cheaper than diesel and petrol engines are cheaper to service. So when economy is very similar, the argument for a diesel is weakened.
Don’t misunderstand, the C3 is not a flying machine, but its not meant to be. The body is already a beauty with great visibility and superb seating position, none of this is changed in the latest version and it will sell well.
In short, you get a cheap to insure, group 9E, alloys and full sized spare, decent boot, great ride, cruise control and all for less than £12,500.
