It’s not all cars here at CarLease UK! Our team also offer a variety of van deals and school minibus leasing deals to customers too. Like the car leasing industry, van leasing has grown considerably over the last 5 years, as van drivers move away from purely cash purchases for their commercial vehicle requirements.
When leasing a van you will be most likely be offered one of two financial products:
1. Contract hire – this is a usership agreement which is based on a fixed term contract for 2, 3 or 4 years and which is based on your annual mileage. As part of the contract hire agreement you will have the option to have a driver-maintained agreement (you are responsible for all servicing, tyres and maintenance) or you can have a funder-maintained agreement (the cost of servicing, tyres and maintenance is included). Contract hire is not a purchase style agreement and so you cannot purchase the vehicle at the end of the contract. This is ideal if you are a person, or company, who does not wish to own your commercial vehicles; or
2. Finance lease – this is an ownership style agreement which allows the customer to build up equity in a vehicle. With a finance lease you make an initial rental and pay monthly rentals in the same way as contract hire. However, at the end of the contract there is a final rental (balloon) which the customer must satisfy in order to own the vehicle. A finance lease arrangement on a van is suitable for those customers who do want to own the vehicle at the end of the contract. However, unlike PCP, you must purchase the vehicle – this is not an optional payment.
The van shown here is for one of a our major fleet customers, Appliances Online, who we have worked alongside for nearly 7 years. As a high-mileage leasing customer (the van will be covering 30,000 miles per annum) including a funder-maintained package was a simple addition.
