How good is Ford ecoboost engine technology?
Ford has showcased their econetic technology in the latest focus, but how good is their new setup? Well if the figures on the new Fiesta are anything to go by, this may be the most economically biased car we have seen in a long time. Ford’s ‘cleanest Fiesta yet’ confirms figures of as high as 85.6mpg! As if this ridiculously low fuel consumption wasn’t enough as a direct result of this the car produced only 87g/km CO2. So it’s more fuel efficient than any other cars in a similar size and less CO2 emissions than the latestPrius!
What does this mean for someone driving this car?
With its emissions of 87g/km you would not only be exempt from road tax but the London congestion charge as well. So as far as your costs go, this car is a real money saver all round with a relatively low fuel bill to boot. If you have this little beauty on a lease deal, then your benefit in kind is reduced and proposals being mooted right now mean you may get a total exemption. Additionally, being a tiny engine and a petrol engine it will warm up quickly and with petrol now being cheaperthan diesel, it’s a real alternative to a small diesel.
