I am a business user, is the new Jaguar iPace for me?
Without doubt, mileage anxiety is what stops many drivers from making the change to car E. Jaguar Land Rover think that they have thought of everything with the iPace to try to take away peoples fear. As a business user, you may well cover 400 miles every day, with the new iPace, you can at last go eco and have a fantastic car as well and it be affordable.
Assuming one top up charge at a public 50kw charger for an hour and you plug in at home for the next day. That would mean a mighty 102,000 miles per annum and you can cover it in the new iPace.
In late 2017, new tests were agreed to more accurately calculate fuel consumption of all new cars. In the case of the iPace, this new real-world test returned a range of 298 miles.
Charging it: You are of course going to have to charge it at some point in time, so Jaguar Land Rover have designed a new charging system that using a typical public charger at 50KW, can add 168 miles range to your new iPace in just an hour or fully charge it in two hours. The iPace also already has the 100kw charge system onboard, ready for the roll out of the new system. You can of course charge at home with your Jaguar Land Rover 7kw onboard charger. You can fully charge overnight or add 22 miles range every hour.
Latest Tech: Whilst plugged in and charging, you can pre-heat or pre-cool your iPace using the Jaguar Land Rover App. Having your car cooled or heated before setting off saves the battery doing the same job and extends your range. Jaguar Land Rover have also added 2nd generation regenerative braking to get the best out of your battery pack. The heating is designed to further optimise the range. All heat from components on board in scavenged to heat the cabin, added to a really efficient heat pump, battery effort is kept to a minimum.
Clever braking: Jaguar Land Rover have developed torque vectoring by braking for the iPace. In a corner, this will apply braking force to to inside wheels and bring about additional turning forces. At the same time, the iPace is driven by front and rear motors that drive the front and rear wheels which achieves an near ideal weight distribution and perfect four wheel drive.
