Another happy 17’ plate customer. This time, an existing personal Edinburgh leasing customer had their diesel Clio collected and replaced with the Renault Captur Hatchback 0.9 TCE 90 Dynamique S Nav 5dr Manual. The customer’s car, which is shown here, is based on the following specification:
· Flame Red ID Metallic Paint
· Cloth – Charcoal
· Diamond black roof and door mirrors
· Exterior gloss pack Diamond Black – Captur
· Interior touch pack Chrome – Captur
· 17″ Black Explore alloy wheels
Originally our customer was covering circa 15,000-16,000 miles per annum and so the diesel engine was ideal for the mid-high mileage requirements. However, due to job changes, it became clear that a 7,000 mile per annum contract would lend itself to a petrol engine, more so than a diesel one. With the customer being set on the Renault Captur, they had a choice between the 0.9 and the 1.2 petrol derivative. Having test-driven both, the customer preferred the 5 speed / 3-cylinder option. With a combined MPG of 55.4, 90ps and a 0-62mph time of 13 seconds, this is an ideal run around town car. With C02 of 114g/km and a P11d of £18,025.00, this may be a pragmatic company car option too.
From a specification perspective, the older-driver wanted as many convenient features as possible.
With Bluetooth, cruise control, a 7” touch screen navigation system, electrically folding door mirrors, DAB radio, LED lights, 17” alloys, Keyless entry and climate control, the “S” was very much the model to choose. While the customer did not add any further factory options, they did consider the additional reversing camera and a space saver spare wheel. We think the flame red, which was recently introduced to the Captur, makes this a car which is equally receptive to the younger driver, as well as the older one.
The smaller SUV-class is getting bigger and bigger. With options including the Audi Q2, the Mazda CX-3, the Peugeot 2008, the Ford Ecosport and the BMW X1 to name but a few, it is actually quite difficult to make a choice. The higher driver-position is ever popular with the modern UK driver in fairness and we are still seeing a growing demand for this type of car.
