Our Manchester-based personal lease customer is awaiting delivery of this little beauty, the Peugeot 208 HATCHBACK 1.2 PureTech 82 Allure 5Dr Manual. We are currently running a leasing special offer on this model and the slightly sportier Gt Line (browse deal) which has proved to be very successful for the team here.
The customer taking this car needed a cheap, small hatchback which still had some positive aesthetics, space for passengers and which would work for his city-based stop/start driving behaviours.
While we have some diesel offers on smaller cars, which do present great MPG statistics, these are not wholly appropriate for the type of driving which the customer required.
For low-mileage users, you need to think carefully about the car you are taking and whether it is suitable for your requirements. In particular, modern diesel engines utilise a DPF, which helps eliminate harmful emissions from the vehicle. In order for this to work effectively, the DPF must get hot enough which is achieved by long periods of driving. For shorter journeys, in particular town and city-style driving, the DPF never reaches the correct temperature and so can become blocked. Where a DPF is blocked, it is your responsibility as the driver to correct this i.e. you must arrange, at your costs, for this to be resolved. You therefore do need to consider that if you are covering fewer miles, particular 8,000 miles and below, put adequate research into the car you are going to lease.
On a side-note, we do offer contracts from as little as 5,000 miles per annum, so our team can accommodate most requests.
In terms of the car shown, this is based on the following specification:
· Shark Grey Metallic Paint
· Cloth Black
· 16″ TITANE ALLOY WHEELS
The “Allure” is one of the nicer cars within the range, sitting above the “Active” model. The basic specification includes air conditioning, rear parking aid, tinted rear windows, Bluetooth, cruise control, DAB radio, LED daytime lights/rear lights, visibility pack, steel spare wheel and the body-coloured exterior. In terms of additional factor options on the Pug, consider adding 3D connected navigation, reversing camera and the electric folding mirrors for a more complete car.
While Peugeot have created a great small lease car option, they do face stiff-competition with the likes of the Ford Fiesta, Citroen C3, Seat Ibiza and VW Polo.
With their being so many genuine great options, making a decision is very difficult.
Which would be your choice?
