We are proudly delivering another beautiful BMW 3 series to our local personal contract hire customer from Manchester this week.
This is the BMW 3 SERIES DIESEL SALOON 335d xDrive M Sport 4dr Step Auto and this represents BMW’s elite in performance diesel cars. The customer, who previously utilised a PCP (Personal Contract Purchase) on their existing BMW, wanted a short-term contract hire deal on something a little more special than their old BMW 330d coupe.
It is important to make some clear distinctions between contract hire and PCP, as these are very different products. However, one consistent theme on both these products is that you do need to consider your credit position before looking at vehicles.
Neither product is suitable for those individuals who have poor/bad credit, as you cannot proceed to the order stage without completing a credit check first. This stage in the process involves you supplying your full name, date of birth, residential history (for 5 years), employment history (for 3 years) and your income and expenditure. In addition, you will need to ensure that you are on the electoral register for your current property. If you do have any concerns on leasing a vehicle / credit, do obtain an credit report before speaking to one of the team here at CarLease UK.
On the PCP vs Contract Hire debate, you need to consider the key differences before committing to either product. A PCP is what we would call an “ownership” style product, as this is providing you the opportunity to purchase the vehicle at the end of the contract by satisfying the guaranteed future value/balloon. However, with a PCP you will only have the cost of road fund licence included for the first year only and, due to restrictions, not all of our deals are available on a like for like PCP arrangement. With contract hire, this is what we would call a “usership” style product; you will never own the vehicle. However, road fund licence is included for the duration of the agreement.
In terms of the luxury car shown here, the 335d xDrive M Sport Auto Saloon, this was based on the following configuration:For any queries on leasing vs buying a car, let the team know.
· Metallic – Estoril Blue
· Dakota leather – Black
· Hexagon aluminium trim with estoril blue matt finish
· 18″ M Star spoke alloy wheels – Style 400M
As standard the car includes 18” alloys, cruise control, heated door mirrors, leather upholstery, Bluetooth, LED headlights, navigation, green tinted glass, rain sensing wipers, dynamic traction and stability control, hill start assist, floor mats, electrically adjustable door mirrors, LED lights, sports steering wheel, multi-function steering wheel, lighting package, remote alarm, sports seats, warning triangle/first aid kit and adjustable front seats. In terms of additional factory options on the 3 series, consider the sun protection glass or the M Sport Plus Pack for the complete vehicle.
On the technical side, the 2993CC 8 speed auto engine delivers 313ps, 51.4 MPG combined and 0-62 times of 4.8 seconds. Service intervals are set at every 24 months or 18,000 miles. With long-life servicing, you might consider the driver-maintained arrangement, as low mileage/short-term drivers may not need to service the vehicle more than once.
So would the BMW 335d xDrive be your preferable leasing option? Or would you be going for the Audi A4 TDI SE, Jaguar XE R Sport or Mercedes C-Class 4 Matic?
