A huge thank-you to our BMW supplier, BMW Park Lane for providing this amazing BMW 5 series for one of our business leasing customers to utilise.
As a credit broker (not a lender), we work alongside a number of finance companies and also a select number of supplying dealers. With regards to the latter, this means that the actual car which is delivered to you is supplied by a representative of the manufacturer – we do not own or hold vehicles on our premises contrary to popular belief.
The identity of the supplying dealer is only made clear to the customer at the point of arranging delivery, mainly due to the fact that it is irrelevant to the customer until this juncture as to who will be supplying the car.
The main point to note is that it is unlikely that we can use a supplying dealer which the customer “wants”. While in some cases a local supply would be practical, the standards we operate to/the fleet discount levels we require/the terms of the special offer essentially prevents some dealers from working with us…
BMW Park Lane are our main port of call for BMW’s. Their service both during and after the sale is first class, their product knowledge is exceptional and they deliver all of their vehicles by way of trailer (free of charge). We have no hesitation in recommending them.
The delivery element of a lease vehicle does create some confusion with new customers; one of the most common question is “how are lease vehicles delivered to me?” In almost all cases, a car (or van) will be delivered to your home or business address manually. By this we mean that a driver will physically drive the vehicle from the PDI centre to you rather than the vehicle being transported.
If you are looking at personal contract hire, please note that some finance companies make it compulsory that the car is delivered to your home address and if this is a business contact hire arrangement, the vehicle must be delivered to your business address.
A “driven delivery” is something which most customers are entirely comfortable with. The mileage the vehicle incurs as part of the process is often not taken into account for your annual mileage requirements (this is why most delivery notes ask you to confirm the delivery mileage). The car should also be washed by the delivery driver before it is handed across to you. Upon receiving the vehicle, you need to check the car and specification matches what has been agreed between you and the credit broker. If there are any issues or doubts, you need to speak to the supplier before accepting the delivery of the vehicle.
Once you have reviewed the vehicle (inside and out), both sets of keys are present and the service handbook is within the vehicle, you can sign to accept everything. In signing the delivery note, you are accepting the vehicle and the contract will being from this date. For a transported delivery, please do ask the supplier.
