The electric/hybrid car market has grown significantly over the last 3 years, with the introduction of genuine user-friendly vehicles. In particular, the company car market has received these vehicles warmly, as drivers look to manage their company car tax position more carefully as the Government continues to increase the level of taxation in the automotive sector.
The vehicle shown offers the driver a unique aesthetic proposition, together with an abundance of specification. You benefit from the usual luxury components with a BMW such as rain sensing wipers, hill start assist, BMW app interface and remote services, electric folding mirrors, 19” alloy wheels, LED lights, Business Advanced navigation, rear distance control. Cruise control etc etc You can go for a standard vehicle or, as per the one here, you can go for the Range Extender in order to benefit from a 125 mile electric range. Not unlike a standard BMW, you can add a number of aesthetic packs if you want the car to stand out.
With the market now offering some great options such as the Mitsubishi PHEV, the Hyundai Ioniq, the VW Golf GTE, the increase in competition and technology will hopefully lead to more affordable solutions. This means that the cars will no longer be the reserve of company car drivers and personal leasing customers too will be able to delve into this market. We alos wonder if the eco used-car market will grow over the next 2-3 years, as these vehicles are de-hired?
Additionally, the class-leading manufacturer Tesla, have announce a more affordable Model 3 (circa £30,000) to support the Model S. However, as this model continues to be delayed (still not expected to arrive in 2017!) manufacturers like BMW can continue to succeed.
