Say hello the new FIAT TIPO DIESEL STATION WAGON 1.6 Multijet Lounge 5dr Manual which we had the chance to review recently.
This is the first opportunity we have had to review this car; in fact we haven’t seen many of the new Fiat Tipo on the UK roads yet! Very kindly, our car rental partners Enterprise (based in Leigh nr Manchester), had the car on site and allowed our team to conduct a road test and review.
The Fiat Tipo is very much Fiat’s answer to the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra, Nissan Pulsar and Peugeot 308.
Available in a hatchback and estate (Station Wagon), the Tipo is available in three specifications:
· Easy – the base model includes 15” steel wheels, electrically adjustable door mirrors, air conditioning, cruise control, spare wheel and DAB radio;
· Easy Plus – the middle-model includes 16” wheels, leather steering wheel, 5” touchscreen, rear parking sensors, LED lights and fog lights; and
· Lounge – the top model will be explored below.
In truth, the Fiat has really been successful in its small car range – the Fiat 500 and Fiat 500X in particular.
Many of our younger drivers prefer the 500, as this offers a small, cost-effective and insurable vehicle but with more style than the competitors (think Peugeot 108, Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo). Leasing for young-drivers is an option when looking for a new vehicle. In many cases, this provides an opportunity for a young person to benefit from a new vehicle and, if a funder-maintained arrangement is taken, the opportunity to have a fixed rental price per month. The only component of the arrangement which we CANNOT offer is car insurance. Many young drivers are looking for car leasing arrangements to include insurance and the truth is that these rarely exist. Some manufacturers offer “just fuel” type offers but these can be limited to persons of a certain age i.e. over 21 or 25 and so precludes those in the 18-21 age bracket.
Before speaking with us, do check your credit rating and insurance status to make the process easier.
In terms of the car shown, the Fiat TIPO DIESEL STATION WAGON 1.6 Multijet Lounge 5dr Manual, this is based on the following configuration:
· Metallic – Electro clash grey
· Cloth – Dark grey/black
· 17″ alloy wheels
As standard the car includes rear parking sensors, reverse camera, 5” touchscreen navigation, body-coloured exterior, electrically adjustable mirrors, roof rails, LED lights, front armrest, adjustable headlights, 17” alloys, cruise control spare wheel, safety pack and 60/40 split folding seats. In terms of additional factor options, consider – privacy glass and the comfort plus pack.
In terms of the technical-side, the car shown has a P11d of £20,170.00 and CO2 of 98/g/km, which is not a bad option for a company car driver considering their BiK exposure. The 1598CC 6 speed manual engine delivers 76.3 MPG, 120ps and 0-62 times of 10 seconds.
So have Fiat done enough to connive you over to the Tipo? Or will you be sticking with the Ford, Vauxhall or Peugeot?
