Another big thank you to our car rental partners, Enterprise (Leigh near Manchester), for letting us review another addition to their fleet – the FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 1.0 EcoBoost 125 ST-Line Navigation 5dr Manual.
We have been enjoying a September registration based deal on the Ford Focus, which has proved to be very popular on a 2 year contract hire basis. However, as cars are delivered directly to our customers, we don’t always get to see the product first hand. Working with one of the UK’s leading car rental companies provides a great opportunity for us to investigate the product more in-depth and get a good understanding for the vehicles we supply. As ever, if you are looking for cheap car rental in the northwest area, speak to one of the Enterprise teams.
While the Focus Hatchback is a fantastic offer, it is very difficult to choose a new deal amidst the competitive options in the market. As a credit broker, we have no specific preference or allegiance to a particular manufacturer – we offer competitive rentals on all makes and models and then it is very much down the customer to decide on their car. When you are looking at a new vehicle, do make sure you research your options sensibly (don’t just follow the cheapest rental mantra).
You need to decide upon a type of car you require i.e. hatchback, SUV or saloon and then think about the key features on the car you would need – Bluetooth, cruise control, parking sensors, navigations etc. You also need to weigh up petrol vs diesel engines, which is very much a question to be based on your driving behaviour and lifestyles.
Try to use a series of practical considerations which should then offer a list of 2 or 3 cars. You can offer these to the team here and we can compare the rentals against each other, so that you can make an accurate decision based on cost – taking into account maintenance, cost of insurances and anticipated fuel costs.
· Design paint – Iceberg blue
· Cloth – Charcoal black
· 17″ alloy wheels with rock metallic finish
In terms of specification, the car includes the quickclear front screen, hill start assist, floor mats, sports suspension, SYNC 3 navigation, body coloured exterior, styling kit. :ED daytime lights, rear LED lights, air conditioning, sports suspension, sports seats, stainless steel scuff plates, MyKey system, keyless start, Thatcham Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser, mini spare wheel and 17” alloys. In terms of additional factory options, consider rear parking sensors and privacy glass to create the perfect mix of car.
On the technical-side, company car and business drivers can note the P11d at £21,590.00 and the CO2 at 108 g/km. The 999CC 6 speed petrol engine delivers 125ps, 0-62 times of 11 seconds and 60.1 combined MPG. The service intervals on the petrol focus are set at every 12 months or every 12,500 miles, whichever lands sooner. For annual servicing requirements, consider the benefits of a funder-maintained agreement to include the cost of all servicing, maintenance, tyres and, in some cases, breakdown recovery.
So would the focus be your choice of sporty hatchback? Or would you be heading to VW for the Golf or Vauxhall for the Astra?
