Thank you to our personal leasing customer from Haydock (Merseyside) for visiting the CarLease UK team to collect their new car, the Ford Focus.
Notwithstanding the snow and poor weather, the team over at Ford organised the delivery of the vehicle to our premises so that the customer could the vehicle from us.
While many of our customers transact with us via the website and organise delivery to their home or business address directly, there are still those customers who do need a personal service.
For our local customers (Wigan, Leigh, St Helens, Warrington), we are no more than 15 minutes away, so we are more than happy to take delivery of the vehicle on behalf of the customer and then take them through the vehicle to ensure they are comfortable with its operation.
Delivery of a lease vehicle will more often be “driven”. What this means is that a delivery driver will collect your car after it has received a PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) and physically drive the vehicle to your home or business address. You will then be given the opportunity to review the vehicle i.e. ensue the specification matches the order, check the bodywork and alloys, ensure the hand book is present and ensure you have both sets of keys.
It should take circa 10-15 minutes to go through this process and when you are content that everything is in place, you will be asked to sign a “vehicle delivery note” which effectively confirms you are happy to receive the vehicle.
In some cases the driver will take a series of photographs at the point of delivery to demonstrate the condition of the vehicle. If you disagree with the specification of the vehicle, the colour or the condition, you need to speak with the dealership or credit broker in order to discuss a rejection of the goods. Additionally, for those customers who do not want the vehicle to be driven to them, you need to request a “transported delivery” which means that the vehicle will be delivered on a low-loader or bigger commercial vehicle. This ensures you are the first person to operate the vehicle (other than the PDI centre). This will incur an additional cost in the region of £250 – £350 plus Vat.
In terms of the car shown here, the FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 1.0 EcoBoost 140 ST-Line X 5dr Manual Petrol, this is based on the following configuration:
· Shadow Black Mica Paint
· Cloth – Charcoal black
· 18″ 5 spoke rock metallic alloy wheels
In terms of specification, the St Line X is one of the elite models within the Focus range. As standard the car includes rear parking sensors, electric folding mirrors, Quickclear windscreen, automatic rain sensing wipers, privacy glass, hill start assist, red brake calipers, floor mats, cruise control, SYNC 3 navigation, auto dimming mirror, body coloured externals, body styling kit, automatic headlights, LED daytime lights, air conditioning, multifunction steering wheel, sports pedals, MyKey system, sports style seats, immobiliser, Thatcham cat 1 alarm, 18” alloys and mini spare wheel. In terms of additional factory options, consider adding a heated steering wheel and the driver convenience pack.
On the technical-side, company car and business drivers can note the P11d at £23,490.00 and CO2 at 112g/km on a standard vehicle. The 999CC 6 speed manual turbo engine delivers 140ps, combined MPG of 57.7 and 0-62 times of 10.4 seconds. Service intervals are every 12 months or 12,500 miles, whichever lands sooner. As such, consider a driver-maintained vs funder-maintained arraignment, the latter including the cost of all servicing, tyres and maintenance.
So would you select the Ford Focus ST Line as your preferred leasing option? Or would you go for the Vauxhall Astra, Seat Leon, VW Golf or Peugeot 308 or maybe a Honda Civic or Nissan Pulsar or Citroen DS4 is more your cup of tea?
