Thank you to our Wigan (Greater Manchester) based business leasing customer for sending through pictures of their latest fleet addition – the Jaguar F-Pace.
Replacing an Audi Q5 diesel, the customer specifically wanted a luxury SUV which was of a similar size and quality but, most importantly, offered a petrol alternative. Mid-sized luxury SUV options have very much been diesel-centric, as the 2 and 3 litre options across Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar and Volvo have seemed to satisfy many drivers.
Driven by demand in the company car market (which is an emissions focused regime in the UK), much investment has been historically placed into the diesel engine which produces higher MPG and lower CO2 than petrol options. What the Government probably under-estimated, is the extent to which the diesel would become a central part of the UK fleet, as the growth of this fuel occurred not only for business users but also for personal users too.
This has now created a somewhat confusing situation in that customers are now asking the question as to whether or not you can buy/lease a diesel vehicle. The simple answer is that not much has changed in this department…
Choosing the right car is very much based on your circumstances, in that a business and personal contract hire customer will have massively different considerations – company car tax vs monthly price. Ideally, you need to review your annual mileage, type of driving, running costs and vehicle requirements to narrow your choice to certain type of vehicles. Price alone should not be the deciding factor, in that a car, however cheap, will not be in your best interests if this does not meet your needs and requirements.
In terms of the car shown here, the Jaguar Petrol F-PACE ESTATE 2.0 R-Sport 5dr Auto AWD, this is based on the following configuration:
· Solid Paint – Narvik black
· Perforated grained leather – Ebony/Pimento duotone with Contrast stitching
· Etched aluminium veneer
· 22″ 15 spoke gloss black finish alloy wheels with Satin black inserts – style 1020
· Morzine headlining – Ebony
· Gloss black roof rails
The car was fitted with the following addition factory options:
· InControl touch pro pack with 380W – F-Pace
· Panoramic glass roof
· Detachable towbar
· Privacy glass
· Reversing camera
· Steel space saver spare wheel
On the technical-side, company car and business drivers can note the P11d at £44,610.00 and CO2 at 170 g/km for a standard car.
Do bear in mind, as we will keep reminding customers, that CO2 and MPG statistics may change following the WLTP regime. The way in which this data is calculated is changing, in order to provide a more accurate analysis of a car’s performance in real-world conditions.
The 1997CC 8 speed auto engine delivers 250ps, 38.2 combined MPG and 0-62 times of 6.8 seconds. Service intervals on a petrol Jaguar are every 12 months or 16,000 miles, whichever lands sooner. For a little more power, consider upgrading to the 300ps R-Sport engine which is almost a second quicker to 62mph!
So would you select the F-Pace as your preferred leasing option? Or would the Audi Q5, BMW X5 or Volvo XC60 be your choice?
