A big thank-you to one of our main Land Rover and Range Rover suppliers, Hunters Derby, for supplying us with the beautiful SUV demo – the LAND ROVER DISCOVERY DIESEL SW 2.0 SD4 HSE 5dr Auto.
As a credit broker, we work alongside a select number of finance companies and supplying deanships. This means the car that the customer actually receives will be supplied and delivered by a specific deanship or dealer group. Using a reputable and high calibre entity like Hunters ensures that our customers receive the best of experiences.
In many cases the car will be transported directly to the customer and the delivery driver is trained in order to give a professional and efficient handover, so that the car firmly meets their requirements. In the event of any issues or problems, we have a direct contact at Hunters who will ensure that everything is resolved in a timely manner.
When customers are receiving cars in excess of £35,000 – £45,000 we expect, as they do, the highest standards.
So what should a customer look for when they are looking for a car leasing service? We understand the modern consumer has a vast amount of choice in the contract hire and leasing market. There are a number of great brokers who you can use in order to procure your vehicle – not just us unfortunately! As a matter of course, do ensure the company that you are working with displays the correct amount of information on their website. As a minimum we would advise you identify:
1. Company number;
2. VAT number;
3. BVRLA number; and
4. FCA number.
In particular, the BVRLA and FCA number can be used to searched online with the relevant ombudsman’s to ensure the addresses/company details match what is being advertised on the website. The BVRLA is our industry’s ombudsman’s and they set the standards and code of practice, so that vehicle brokers know how to properly conduct their business. In addition, our financial regulator, the FCA, is there is protect and enhance the customer’s experience within the financial services industry (not just for the automotive industry).
Additionally, do consider using online review sites like Trustpilot or Feefo to see whether or not the business has ratings and what feedback they do receive. A further practical solution is get 3 written quotations; be careful at getting many more as this is going to lead to confusion. If one supplier is disproportionately cheaper than the other two quotes, this may suggest you have found a superb deal or that there is an issue with the quote received!
If it seems too good to be true, it often is.
In terms of the luxury SUV shown here the Land Rover Disco HSE 5dr Auto, this is based on the following configuration:
· Metallic – Corris grey
· Windsor Leather – Ebony
· 20″ 5 split spoke alloy wheels – style 5011
· Shadow oak interior trim
As standard the car includes driver condition monitor, LED headlights, fixed panoramic roof, lane departure warning, 20” alloy wheels, heated front and rear seats, cruise control, rear view camera, front parking aid, climate control, rear parking sensors, full size spare wheel, meridian sound system with 10 speakers, heated washer jets, rain sensing wipers, hill launch assist, hill descent control, air suspension, front camera, Bluetooth, traffic sign recognition, pro navigation, wifi hotspot, electric folding and heated door mirrors, DAB radio, steering wheel controls, high beam assistant, emergency braking, 16-way electric seats, electric 3rd row seating, anti-theft alarm system, immobiliser, keyless entry and interior mood lighting.
On the technical-side, company car drivers can note the P11d at £59,590.00 and CO2 at 171 g/km for a standard vehicle. The 1999CC 8 speed auto engine delivers 240ps, combined MPG of 43.5 and 0-62 times of 8 seconds. The service intervals on a Discovery are every 24 months or 21,000 miles, whichever lands sooner. Do consider the cost benefits of a driver-maintained vs funder-maintained contract hire arrangement.
So would the Discovery be your preferable leasing option? Or would you head to Mercedes for a GLE, BMW for an X5, Porsche for the Cayenne or Jaguar for an F-Pace or Maserati for the Levante?
