Thank you to our personal leasing customer, from Atherton (Greater Manchester), for visiting the CarLease UK team to collect their new vehicle – the Mercedes B Class (MPV).
For local customers in the Wigan, St Helens, Warrington and Leigh boroughs, we offer the opportunity for a collection service for a customer’s brand new vehicle. With most contract hire vehicles, delivery is included within the price which you pay. However, as delivery is generally only available Monday to Friday (business hours), for some customers this can present a problem if their working life does not facilitate this or if they are nervous about receiving the car personally.
To assist with this process, we will take collection of the vehicle on your behalf and then arrange with you to collect the vehicle at a time which is convenient to you. As we open 9-12.30 on a Saturday, this can sometimes be much better for our customer. We can also facilitate collection from 8am up to 6pm, Monday-Friday.
The delivery aspect of the vehicle can often be the most difficult for us. As a credit broker, not a lender, we work alongside the finance company (who supply the credit/finance to you) and the supplying dealer (franchised main dealer) to make the process operate smoothly.
While the finance company is the registered owner of a contract hire vehicle, until you take delivery of the vehicle, they will not begin the contract nor will they pay the supplying dealer for the asset.
The dealer is responsible for supplying your car and managing any technical queries about the product. However, while they register the car, they have no ownership of the vehicle.
The vehicle will be arranged by us (and you) for a time of your choosing – for personal customers this must be delivered to the actual lessee and cannot be delivered to someone to sign on your behalf. In some cases, finance companies will enforce personal customers to receive the vehicle at their home address on the proposal form. For businesses customers, the process can be more flexible in that any employee can take receipt of the vehicle. Again, some finance companies will enforce the car to be delivered to a business address. In any case, the vehicle will most likely be delivered in a “driven” format. This means a driver physically drives the vehicle from the supplying dealer to you, the customer. A transported delivery is a not a common occurrence and is available free of charge with specific manufacturers and cars only. In most cases a transported delivery will incur an additional fee for leasing arrangements.
