Mercedes have announced an update to the GLA for 2017, with the model being debuted at the Detroit Motor Show. The Mercedes GLA is a very popular car in the UK and the new changes to suspension, bumpers, alloys wheels, interior revision plus some new additional options, should give the a car a fresh appearance. In terms of the engine, not much is planned for change in the UK, so the platforms will remain largely the same.
The small SUV / cross-over class is massively popular for most manufacturers in the UK. Modern drivers need vehicles which can essentially serve a number of purposes – spacious (but not too big), increased ride height, ample boot space, improved specification (Bluetooth, Air Conditioning, Navigation, Parking Sensors as a minimum) and good distinctive aesthetics. While this class of vehicle was often thought to be the reserve of the older (or retired) person, that couldn’t be any further from the truth. As impending inflation puts more stress on the modern family, it is simply unaffordable to have a number of different vehicles on your drive; drivers need a car which does everything. As we approach some Thunder Snow (honesty this is a true phenomenon) the need for 4wd, or 4Matic in this car, is becoming greater!
Perhaps less practical, particular for the high-mileage car driver, is the Mercedes-Benz GLA CLASS AMG HATCHBACK 45 4Matic 5dr Auto which is also going to be amended (and which is shown here). This 380bhp beast will propel you to 62mph in under 4.5 seconds! With remodelled design and AMG stylings, plus a new Yellow Night Edition, Mercedes look set to introduce another exciting performance car to the leasing market! If there is one thing Mercedes do better than any other manufacturer is their commitment to producing performance / AMG-styled vehicles with brave designs.
Is the GLA the best car in the luxury class or would you choose the BMW X1 or the new Audi Q2? Maybe a baby Jaguar SUV option would change your mind??!!
