Our local personal contract hire customer, from Warrington, visited the CarLease UK premises this weekend to collect their brand new vehicle – the Mercedes C Class Diesel Saloon C220d AMG Line 4 Door 9G-Tronic (auto).
If you are based in the Wigan, Warrington or St Helens area (i.e. Manchester or Liverpool), do consider coming to our offices and we can assist you face to face.
While much of our business if conducted online, we appreciate some traditional customers do still want that personal service and to actually meet the people they are procuring a motor vehicle from. This is an absolute pleasure for us, so please do not hesitate to visit us.
In terms of the luxury saloon shown here, the C-Class AMG Line, this is based on the following configuration:
· Selenite Grey Metallic Paint
· Black Ash Wood Trim
· 18″ 5 Spoke AMG Alloy Wheels in Titanium Grey
As standard, the AMG Line has a great level of specification – 18” alloys, LED headlights, agility control, cruise control, artico leather, reversing camera, rain sensing wipers, green tinted glass, adaptive brake system, hill start assist, Bluetooth, active park system, Garmin Map pilot, AMG body styling, twin exhaust pipes, attention assist, climate control, sports pedals, lighting pack, mirror pack, seat comfort pack, storage pack, sports seats, heated front seats and lumbar support. In terms of additional factor specification, customers tend to elect for:
· Premium Pack – ambient lighting, keyless-go, memory package and panoramic sunroof; or
· Premium Plus Pack – all of the above PLUS the Burmester sound system and COMMAND navigation
On the technical-side, company car-drivers can note the £37,105.00 P11d and CO2 of 117g/km. The 2143CC 9 speed semi-auto engine delivers 170ps, 61.4MPG and 0-62 times of 7.5 seconds. Service intervals on the C-Class are every 12 months or 15,500 miles, whichever lands sooner. With annual service requirements on a vehicle, always consider a driver-maintained vs funder-maintained arrangement, as including the cost of all servicing, tyres and maintenance can offer better certainty of cost.
The customer, like many of our personal leasing customers, was exiting a company car arrangement. When you have a company car this is a benefit to you personally and, as result, you will pay company car tax (or Benefit in Kind). Calculation of your tax exposure is based on the P11d value of the car (a list price on the car including Vat and any options or delivery charges) and the CO2 of the vehicle.
If you are driving expensive (and polluting cars) you will be penalised somewhat heavily.
This is why many customers are either electing for PHEV vehicles like the Mitsubishi Outlander and the VW Passat GTE or they are electing to take a car allowance and use their own money to pay for the vehicle.
In the latter case, you will pay income tax on the allowance which your company provides you.
However, when you are organising a new vehicle, make sure you are factoring in the cost of maintenance and insurance, which your company often provides you. Be careful of pushing your budget to procure a luxury vehicle without factoring into all the relevant costs.
So if the C-Class your favourite executive leasing option? Or would you be heading over to the BMW 3 series, Jaguar XF or Audi A4?
Or also consider these uber economical options when factoring in Business BiK Contributions…
