Thank you to our existing business leasing customer, a joinery and wood manufacturer based in Leigh (Manchester), for coming to visit the CarLease UK team to organise collection and delivery of their brand-new vehicle – the Mercedes GLC.
Our customer was previously utilising one of our favourite vehicles, the BMW 335d xdrive M Sport Auto Saloon, but needed a vehicle which would offer more room for their family albeit with less performance.
The Mercedes just met all of their needs and requirements.
As an existing customer, we thought it may be useful to detail the collection and the delivery process to provide some insight for those who may be new to the leasing process. In terms of the delivery process, you need to distinguish between the three different types of deals which you able to procure: (Read More…)
1. Stock Deals – vehicles which are either in stock at the supplying dealer, UK port or at a European port – deliverable 2-3 weeks from point of order (subject to cooling-off periods);
2. Allocation Deals – vehicles which will be built, or in build, and which cannot be adjusted from a specification perspective. Many deals are structured this way – deliverable 4 – 8 weeks from point of order; or
3. Factory Orders – vehicles which are built for your specific requirements as there is no option within UK stock. Deliverable 4 – 24 weeks from point of order depending on build and shipping times.
As we never make build times / delivery a condition of the contract (as this is not a process we can control) do consider your timescales when you are researching a new car.
For those customers who are already in a vehicle with us, there may be an opportunity to extend the vehicle “informally”, which essentially allows you to keep the vehicle beyond the cessation of the contract for an additional charge.
This means that should your new vehicle be delayed, you will be able to retain your existing vehicle. However, not all finance companies do offer this benefit so do research this before making a firm decision.
Arranging the collection of your lease vehicle is not a difficult process. For customers with CarLease UK we communicate about 6 months before the contract end date to alert customers as to the cessation of their contract. Around 2 -3 months before the vehicle is due to be returned we like to have a firm decision in place, so that we can organise the collection process. When you are ready to have the vehicle collected, you will receive a confirmation to the effect of:
You should be contacted 2 working days before the collection by the delivery agent to confirm delivery (if collection is on a Monday, this will take place on the Thursday). You MUST confirm collection when contacted – failure to do so can result in an aborted collection;
Please ensure you have the fully stamped service book, MOT certificate (if applicable) and vehicle keys in your possession;
Should you have any queries regarding the condition of your vehicle, please do liaise with us or refer to the BVRLA fair, wear and tear policy, a copy of which can be emailed to you upon request; and
You must ensure you have removed any cherished plates prior to the collection.
If you act times and in conjunction with this processes, there should be no issues when returning your lease car.
