Thank you to our Cheshire-based business leasing customer, for sending pictures of their latest addition – the Mercedes-Benz GLC Diesel Coupe 350d 4Matic AMG Line Premium Plus 5dr 9G-Tronic (auto).
While the customer had been enjoying the Maserati Ghibli Diesel Saloon V6, they needed a practical (but sporty) SUV-type vehicle. While it was a bit of a battle between the GLC-Coupe seen here, BMW X4 and Jaguar F-Pace, the Mercedes eventually won!
Renewing a lease should be an easy process. At CarLease UK this is a question we do get asked by customers, so that they can best prepare their vehicles being returned (and renewed).
Our approach is to contact a customer, personal or business, circa 6 months before the end of contract. This is a great time to start reviewing your current vehicle from a mileage/condition perspective.
As contact hire is based on annual mileage, if you return the vehicle with mileage which exceeds the agreed amount, you will charged for every mileage above the contracted amount (shown as pence per mile on your order form and contracts). In addition, the condition of the vehicle must be within the fair wear and tear guidelines which is produced by our industry ombudsman – the BVRLA. If you look for any notable dents, scratches or scuffs, you may want to organise these being repaired or re-mediated before collection.
For any damage beyond the agreed standards you, or the business, will be charged.
From the 6 month contact, you should prioritise in getting your vehicle arranged for collection and also start to think about replacing the car. With some contracts we can organise a 6 or 12 month extension if you do want to keep the vehicle but this is not always available. As we work alongside a select number of finance companies, their rules and regulations on vehicle returns does vary. In some cases you can even make a “driver to buy” application, which presents an opportunity to own the vehicle if desired. In the alternative, if you are renewing your vehicle, we tend to see decisions being 2-3 months before contract end.
By being organised and practical, we can avoid any unnecessary delays with the new vehicle and ensure there are no nasty surprises with the vehicle being returned.
The end result is that we get your new car delivered and existing one collected on the same day!
