One of the fascinating additions to the automotive market is the SUV coupe or sport 4×4, which has started to appear and now grow. We have been writing quite a lot of blogs recently which have detailed our customer’s cars, many of which are compact-SUV’s or the bigger SUV options (read more.)
In short, this is simply because the demand for these types of vehicles is continuous – most of us in the modern-era need a car which suits a number of budgets and styles;
we cannot have a car for the week and one for the weekend
Many customers need a car which is aesthetically pleasing, had a number of comfort features (sat nav, leather, heated seats, parking sensors and cruise control) and has enough space for the family/kids/dogs/shopping etc.
While many of the SUV’s present a practical option, particularly for some of our older leasing customers, the emerging market of young and dynamic professionals, with disposable income, means that some customers do want something which is a little bit more attractive. The car manufacturers have therefore introduced the “coupe” forms which are a far more attractive proposition. BMW have their X4 and X6 , Mercedes have their GLC and GLE coupe and now Range Rover are introducing the new Velar.
The market is more than buoyant and with Jaguar and Audi looking at options, the customer choice is only going to get harder.
The car pictured here is the Mercedes-Benz GLC Diesel Coupe GLC 250d 4Matic AMG Line 5dr Auto with the following configuration:
· Polar White Solid Paint

· High Gloss Black with Aluminium Trim
· 19″ AMG 5 Twin Spoke Alloy Wheels in Titanium Grey
The basic specification on this car includes privacy glass, rain sensing wipers, adaptive brake system, brake callipers/perforated brake discs, AMG floor mats, active park assist, attention assist, cruise control, Garmin Map Pilot, DAB radio, AMG bodystyling, Interior lighting pack, mirror pack, storage pack, heated front seats, keyless start, reversing camera, Mercedes connect me and 19” AMG alloy wheels. There are very little additional factory options you would want to add, perhaps the surround camera system, head up display and leather upholstery may be worth considering?
On the technical-side, with CO2 at 143g/km and the P11d at £44,490.00, you do need to do your company car tax calculations. In terms of performance, the 2143cc engine will deliver 204ps – this offers 52.3MPG and 7.6 seconds to 62mph. From a servicing perspective, the first service is due on 15,500 miles.
