Thanks to Hunters Land Rover of Derby for allowing us to demo this beautiful, and luxury, SUV/ 4×4… the Land Rover Range Rover Sport Diesel Estate 2.0 SD4 HSE 5dr Auto.
Our customer who recently leased the full-size Range Rover Sport Autobiography, was offered this as a courtesy for 2 months while the factory had to organise the special paint for his new vehicle.
The Range Rover Sport is very much an aspirational vehicle in the mid to big SUV/4×4 class, offering style, class and comfort to the driver. It is probably the premium SUV within the range (subject to some discussion we know!). There are a range of great specification to choose from for the driver, including:
· HSE – see details below;
· HSE Dynamic – adds Red Brembo brake callipers, narvik black mirro vpas, grille in gloss black, gloss black vents and bonnet, illuminated tread plates, 21” alloy wheels, terrain response, dynamic response and torque vectoring;
· Autobiography Dynamic – front/rear bumper corners, narvik black roof, premium Oxford leather, 22” alloys, fixed panoramic roof, climate seats, heated steering wheel and 825W Meridian sound system; and
· SVR – the 550hp 5.0L V8 supercharged offers specialised spoiler, quad tailpipes, unique grille, unique stylings, sports seats, blue brembo callipers and 22” alloys.
The 2.0 model our team had the chance to review, is very much the company car friendly choice. When you procure a vehicle on a contract hire basis through your company, you need to review the Benefit In Kind (BiK) you will pay on the vehicle. While company vehicles are a great remuneration tool, they do come at a certain cost.
Before choosing your next car you need to calculate the P11d value and CO2 (plus consider your tax rate) and then you can ascertain the level of taxation you will pay per month…
The Government, in an effort to target pollution, are now punishing cars with excessive CO2, so if you do go for a bigger engine, you will be charged for the luxury of it!
The HSE, albeit the based model, is well stocked with features including heated front and rear seas, cruise control, terrain response, 4-way lumbar support seats, front/rear carpet mats, steering wheel paddles, 16-way passenger and driver seats, lane departure warning, climate control, rear view camera, 20” alloys, xenon headlamps, space saver spare wheel, interior mood lighting, hill descent control, trailer stability assist, front parking aid, push button start, HDD premium navigation, heated/electrically adjustable door mirrors, rear parking control, follow me home lights, InControl connect pack, keyless entry and perimetric and volumetric anti-theft alarm. For a more complete vehicle, consider adding the following additional options – privacy glass, surround camera system, fixed panoramic roof and the colour contrast roof.On the technical-side, the car shown offers a P11d of £59,460.00 and CO2 of 164g/km. The 1999CC 8 speed auto engine delivers 240ps, combined MPG of 45.6 and 0-62 times of 8 seconds. Servicing-wise, it’s every 12 months or 16,000 miles, whichever is sooner. With the yearly obligations, do consider a funder-maintained leasing arrangement, so that services, maintenance and tyres are offered within the contract.
So would the Land Rover Range Rover be your choice of luxury SUV leasing deals? Or would you be consider the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5 or Mercedes GLE?
