Thank you to our existing personal leasing customer, from Hertfordshire, for sending pictures of their latest acquisition – the Seat Ateca. Like many modern UK customers, our client here had previously been operating a small SUV, the ever-popular Renault Captur.
The growth of SUV type cars has been truly phenomenal and a large proportion of the enquires we receive do pertain to this type of vehicle.
It is difficult to say precisely why the SUV and crossover has become the number one choice of vehicle in the UK but much can probably be answered through the changing lifestyles/economy we now have.
Many families now need a vehicle which serves a multitude of purposes; its needs to be spacious, adequate bootspace, have a good level of specification and also be an attractive vehicle. Due to budgetary constraints, it is not possible to run multiples of vehicles. The traditional MPV just doesn’t look that good anymore – think VW Touran, Ford S-Max and Seat Alhambra.
We have noticed a massive decline for the “bus” type of vehicle.
Without a doubt, most manufacturers are investing into the SUV, ranging from Nissan to Porsche, so the increase in investment means that SUVs are presenting better alternatives to customers. From a safety perspective many drivers do enjoy the higher driving position and feel they benefit here too. The modern crossover often comes well-equipped with all the necessary specification you need, like navigation, heated seats, parking sensors and electric tailgate, so you don’t need to compromise on that front. With modern engines, both petrol and diesel, now offering more efficiency, the bigger 4x4s are slowly becoming less polluting from a CO2 perspective and are offering much better combined MPG.
With new cars this year in the shape of the Kia Stonic, Skoda Karoq, Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Seat Arona, the landscape for 2018 has already been set – more SUVs are coming!
In terms of the car shown here, the Seat ATECA DIESEL ESTATE 2.0 TDI Xcellence 5dr DSG 4Drive, this is based on the following configuration:
· Nevada white Metallic Paint
· Leather – Black
· 18″ Performance alloy wheels
From a specification perspective, the car includes cruise control, 8 speaker sound system, navigation, 18” alloys, dark tinted windows, automatic post collision braking, front assist, hill hold control, app car play, rear parking sensor, rear view camera, electric folding mirrors (and heated), steering wheel mounted controls, twin exhaust, Led headlights, climate control, leather upholstery, convenience pack, winter pack, XDS differential lock, sports seats and keyless entry. In terms of additional specification on an Ateca, consider the electric panoramic sunroof, seat sound pack and a space saver spare wheel for the complete experience.
On the technical-side, a standard car has a P11d of £31,910.00 and CO2 of 135g/km. The 1968CC 7 speed auto engine delivers 53.3MPG, 190ps and 0-62 time of 7.5 seconds.
So would the Seat Ateca be your preferred leasing option in this class? Or would you have the VW Tiguan, Kia Sportage, Peugeot 3008 or Ford Kuga?
