Thank you to one of our leading suppliers of VW’s, Corkhills Wigan for allowing us to photograph and review another of their beautiful cars – the new VW T-Roc.
The world of SUVs is without doubt the most competitive aspects of the UK automotive industry. Over the last 5 years there has been seismic changes, where customers purchasing and leasing habits have altered drastically.
The MPV and estate type family cars have almost been cast-aside by a plethora of SUV options – mirco, medium and large – offering a customer more choice than you could imagine.
The T-Roc is a good addition to the “micro SUV” market, one which sees the Renault Captur, the Audi Q2, the Kia Stonic and Peugeot 2008 duke it out over those customers who want a smaller car but one with a higher driving position.
The “safety” feel of these cars has been seen as a big selling point to female drivers.
In terms of the car shown here, the Volkswagen T-ROC HATCHBACK 1.0 TSI SE 5dr, this is based on the following configuration:
· Metallic – Ravenna blue
· Tracks 4 cloth – Black Oak/Ceramique
· 17″ Kulmbach alloy wheels
As standard the car includes comfort seats, 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, front and rear parking sensors, black roof rails, remote tailgate release, rain sensing wipers, heated rear windscreen, ESC, front assist with city emergency braking, electronic parking brake, trailer stability programme, Bluetooth, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, 8” touch screen, auto dimming rear view mirror, 6 speaker system, DAB radio, body coloured externals, automatic headlights, coming/leaving light functions, LED daytime running lights, courtesy lights, alarm with interior protection, immobiliser and 17” alloys. In terms of additional specification, considering adding the electric sliding panoramic roof, power tailgate and winter pack. Alternatively upgrade the car to the “SEL” or “R Line “ model”.
On the technical-side, company car and business users can note the P11d at £20,975.00 and CO2 at 117g/km. The 999CC 6 speed manual engine offers 55.4 combined MPG, 115ps and 0-62 times of 11.5 seconds. Service intervals on a petrol T-Roc are every 24 months or 10,000 miles, whichever lands sooner. As such, do weigh up the costs of a driver-maintained funder maintained contract. The latter will include the provision of all servicing, maintenance, tyres and, in some cases, breakdown recovery, for the duration of the lease.
So would you select the T-Roc as your preferred leasing option? Or would one of the other competitors above Renault Captur, the Audi Q2, the Kia Stonic and Peugeot 2008 be your choice of car?
