Thanks to our existing personal leasing customer, based in Birmingham, for sending pictures of their new lease car, the Volvo XC60 Diesel Estate D4 [190] SE Nav 5dr Geartronic [Leather]. There were some amazing deals on this SUV option in December and January, as Volvo make preparation for the 2018 XC60 which launches in September of this year.
In terms of the car shown, it is based on the following configuration:
· Power Blue Metallic Paint
· Leather Faced – Off Black Interior
· Milled Aluminium Trim
· 17″ Vader Alloys Wheels
The new Volvo is set to follow the style, aesthetics and trims of the XC90 in that they will now be based on a simpler platform of Momentum, Inscription and R Design. As per the model show, the 2017 XC60, there are a plethora of options (which is somewhat confusing) including the SE, SE LUX, R Design, R Design Lux etc etc.
If you want to have something sporty, you need to go for the R Design.
Technically-wise, the car has a P11d of £35,055.00 and reasonable CO2 at 124g/km. The 1969CC diesel engine is an 8 speed auto which delivers 60.1 MPG, 190ps and 0-60 times of 8 seconds. In terms of performance, this is pretty good when you consider we are looking at a mid-sized SUV. On the servicing side, this is every 12 months or 18,000 miles whichever is sooner. Again, this might lend you to consider a funder-maintained contract arrangement given the servicing obligations? By having a funder-maintained package you can include the cost of all regular servicing, replacement tyres (not always punctures) and, in some cases, breakdown recovery.
The Volvo has a bit of reputation, due to safety, that this should be the car for the older driver. However, notwithstanding its functional performance and ability, you cannot argue that this is an aesthetically pleasing car. Particularly when you consider the R Design with Aluminium Trim, sports leather upholstery, front bumpers and grille, sports chassis, sports pedals, 18” alloys and sports seats. With this model, you have a family car which not only delivers comfort and practicality but is a car which does look absolutely stunning.
However, ae we explored with our recent Ford Kuga reviews, the SUV class is just packed with so many options and it’s hugely difficult for any manufacturer to be number 1. With the Range Rover Evoque, Audi Q5, the Mercedes GLC and BMW X3 breathing down your neck, it is always a mammoth task to be the best out there.
So which luxury SUV options will you be choosing?
