From October to December, we ran a fantastic number of van leasing deals on the VW Caddy, the Caddy Maxi and the Transporter (all euro 5 models) which proved to be very popular; particularly with the smaller businesses we deal with in the joinery, plumbing and electrical sectors. Contract hire and finance lease products are becoming more and more popular in the construction sector, as awareness of these products has become more widely-know. Similar businesses to our own, such as Vanarama, have done a fantastic job in advertising the true benefit to our services. Sometimes it is better to contract hire or finance lease rather than buy!
The Caddy Maxi shown here is the middle-spec as such; VW Caddy is based on Startline, Trendline and Highline specification ranges. The Startline is the entry model and is very much a basic van with no comfort or luxury. Moving up, the Trendline adds the multi-function computer, cruise control, rear parking sensors, body-coloured mirrors and body colour bumpers. The elite specification, the Highline, will offer air conditioning, alloy wheels, fog lights and a heated windscreen.
In terms of engines, the main options are a 1.6 TDI 102ps and a 2.0TDI 140ps. The former, which is shown here offers a frugal 42.2mpg but with a sizeable 102ps. The van does have some decent output compared to some of the French options, like Citroen and Peugeot, which offer 75ps engines. We do get feedback that these options can be a tad underpowered.
By upgrading to the “Maxi” you been it from much greater load space, with volume of 4.2 cubic metres which is almost equivalent of a Ford Transit Custom SWB or Vauxhall Vivaro SWB! If you don’t need huge volume, as per our florist and pharmacy customers, the standard van will be ideal for your requiresments.
