Thank you to our local personal leasing customer, from Lowton (Warrington), for coming to the CarLease UK premises to collect their new vehicle – the petrol VW Golf.
From start to finish we met with our customer on premises, which is a little different as to how we generally do business in the “modern era”. Many of our modern customers will enquire and liaise with our sales and administration teams online via our website and customer portals, so that a transaction all happens through emails and, in some cases, telephone calls.
The era of going to three or four different dealerships and spending countless hours test-driving and receiving finance quotations is changing; a customer can now access a website and look at a multitude of different vehicles and quickly receive quotations based on their term, mileage and maintenance position (funder/driver). Within the space of minutes a customer has their answer (with no pressure!).
However, for some of our local customers, particular in the St Helens, Wigan, Leigh and Warrington areas, there are those customers who still want a more personal touch.
While we do not stock any cars on our premises (as most are held in compounds and ports), the customer might want to sit with one of our account managers and run through the options available to them.
Some customers are not comfortable with providing sensitive data relating to their bank, income or address and so they would rather conduct this in the privacy of our offices. As you would expect, many of the quotations we supply are almost instant, so in the space of 10 minutes, a customer can receive all the necessary pricing required.
We also deal with many older customers who may not have an email address or who rarely operate an email address. There is no age restriction on leasing a vehicle, i.e. this is not something which is bespoke to those under the age of 75. As contract hire is credit-based, this is the foremost important aspect of the transaction.
Our older customers can take comfort in that they can lease a car and all of the necessary details can be discussed in our offices.

In terms of technical data, company car and business users can note the P11d of £21,805.00 and CO2 of 120g/km for company car tax (benefit in kind) calculations. The 1395CC 6 speed manual engine delivers 53.3 combined MPG, 125ps and 0-62 times of 9.1 seconds. The service intervals are set at every 24 months or 10,000 miles, whichever lands sooner. As ever, weigh the costs between a driver-maintained and funder-maintained arrangement for service and tyre costs.
So would you select the VW Golf as your preferred leasing option? Or would you be heading to Audi for the A3, the BMW for the 1 Series or Mercedes of the A-Class?
