The customer, a referral from one our existing clients, was brand-new to the leasing process and so they raised a number of basic questions before they were comfortable with proceeding.
The main issue many customers have with a business like ours, is that as an internet company, we rarely meet our customers face to face and there is some trepidation in providing confidential details and data to us.
This is something we completely understand in the modern-era and so, in an effort to comfort our customers, we direct them to a number of organisations and ombudsmans who can attest to our ability to carry out business, including:
1. The BVRLA (British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association) – a trade body for the rental and leasing sector who consult with the government and assist in maintaining industry standards. As part of our membership, businesses like our will undergo annual audits;
2. The FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) – the financial services regulator who endeavours to a) protect consumers b) enhance market integrity c) promote competitions;
3. Companies House – the register of companies in the UK (liquid and solvent); and
4. Trustpilot – an independent online review platform which collects customer reviews on businesses.
All of the above allow ANY customer to conduct the necessary research and due diligence to ensure that they are comfortable with the company they are dealing with (free of charge). All of the bodies above will happily receive customer enquiries if there are concerns about the status of a company. If you do have any worries, do not send your personal details to the business in question. In every transaction, we do need a number of personal details to proceed with a credit search which includes your full name, date of birth, telephone numbers, email address, 5-year residential address, 3 year employment details, bank details and income/expenditure. Without these details we cannot proceed with a credit search and the transaction cannot proceed further. We therefore suggest that if you do have massive concerns about supplying this data, you consider working alongside a more local credit broker and then you can meet them face to face before supplying the aforementioned details.
