Conducting the renewal on-side here at CarLease UK is actually more beneficial to us, as we get the supervise the new vehicle handover with the customer and ensure they understand all the different components in their new car. It also provides a good opportunity to ensure the new vehicle arrives in the correct condition, the specification meets our order instructions and that all the necessary handbooks/keys/components are present with the vehicle.
Additionally, by assisting the customer with their existing car, we ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and that all the necessary equipment is available for the vehicle to be inspected.
In terms of the vehicle shown here, the VW Golf 2.0 TDI 184 GTD 5dr DSG, the customer elected for the following configuration:
· Indium Grey – Metallic Paint
· Jacara cloth – Tartan Grey
· 18″ Seville alloy wheels
The GTD is very much the “elite” within the diesel range from VW. The standard specification includes heat insulated glass, front sports seats, discover navigation, LED headlights, 18” alloys, driver and passenger lumbar support, winter pack (heated seats and washer nozzles), rain sensing wipers, front/rear carpet mats, Bluetooth, adaptive cruise control, driver alert system, 8” touch screen, electrically folding and heated door mirrors, LED daytime lights, air conditioning, ambient lighting pack, mirror pack, space saver spare wheel and a pre-crash system. In terms of additional factory options – consider the 90% tinted glass and the rear view camera for an impressive car.
On the technical-side, company car drivers can note the £30,050.00 P11d and CO2 at 124g/km. The 1968CC 7 speed auto engine delivers 184ps, 0-62 times of 7.4 seconds and combined MPG 60.1. Service intervals are set at every 10,000 miles or every 24 months, so very much worth considering a funder-maintained agreement to include the cost of all serving, maintenance and tyres.
If you are a high-mileage leasing customer, then the consideration for the all-encompassing funder-maintenance package is even higher.
So would the Golf GTD be your choice of hot hatch? As one of the most cost-effective options, this car does offer quality, style and performance. However, with considerable competition from the Mercedes A Class, BMW 1 Series and Audi A3, customers do have a tough choice to make whether this be for a petrol or diesel option.
