A big thank you to our Romford-based personal leasing customer for sending pictures of their new vehicle – the Volkswagen Passat Diesel Saloon 2.0 TDI R Line 4Dr DSG [Panoramic Roof].
As the customer was replacing an Audi A4 Saloon Special Editions 2.0 TDI 190 Black Edition (manual), they did want to keep their new vehicle within the German-eque group i.e. Audi, Skoda, Seat and VW. As the actual components and engineering within these vehicles is relatively similar, we tend to find that a customer will equally enjoy all of these products on a similar basis.
However, it does then depend on aesthetics and vehicle make-up as to which car a customer will choose. For example, for bigger estate vehicles, we find the Skoda Superb is more popular than an Audi A6 or VW Passat Estate equivalent or an Audi A3 being preferred over the Golf and Leon.
Because we work alongside a select number of finance companies, the current deals we offer will also be instrumental in a customer’s decision. More often than not, money does talk when it comes to a new car!
In terms of the car shown here, the VW Passat R Line Auto, this is based on the following configuration:
· Urano Grey Solid Paint
· Race Cloth/Vienna Leather – Black
· Brushed Aluminium Interior Trim
· 18″ Monterrey Alloy Wheels + Anti-Theft Wheel Bolts
As standard the car includes Bluetooth, lumbar support, discover navigation, touch screen display, space saver alloy, vienna leather upholstery, 18” alloys, front/rear parking sensors, lumbar adjustment on seats, rain sensing wipers, post collision braking, front assist with emergency braking, hill hold function, front/rear carpet mats, electrically folding and heated door mirrors with puddle lights, electric panoramic sunroof with sunblind, R Line body kit, LED lights, climate control, multifunction leather steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, ambient light package, keyless start, comfort seats and remote locking. In terms of additional extras to consider on the Passat – rear view camera, power boot opening and closing and winter pack are all great additions to the vehicle.
On the technical-side, company car and business users can note the P11d of £30,775.00 and CO2 at 121g/km for a standard vehicle when calculating benefit in kind (BiK) exposure. The 1968CC 6 speed auto engine delivers 61.4 combined MPG, 150ps and 0-62 times of 8.7 seconds. Services on the diesel Passat are every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever lands sooner. As such, do weigh up the costs between a driver-maintained and funder-maintained contract hire arrangement.
So would the VW Passat be your preferential leasing option? Or would the Audi A4, BMW 3 / 4 series or Mercedes C-Class be your next luxury saloon?
