At the recent Detroit motorshow, Volkswagen announced a number of new products, the most popular (and practical) of which was the new Tiguan Allspace.
The longer wheelbase Allsapce (additional 11cm) will offer a 7 seat alternative to the current 5 seat Tiguan and will launch across North America, China and Europe in Summer of this year.
The current VW Tiguan (browse deals) is one of the more popular SUV leasing deals we offer; in particular the SE Nav and SEL have proved to be the ideal specification for many drivers. The S and SE are somewhat basic whereas the top of the group R Line is perhaps a tad too expensive compared to the other options. The Tiguan is a great fit, as drivers see the vehicle more capable that the Ford Kuga, Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sportage and Renault Kadjar. However, it does offer stronger value against the prestigious Audi Q3, BMW X3, Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes GLC.
By adding the 7-seat option, VW are opening the vehicle up to a growing SUV segment, traditionally ruled by the Nissan X-Trail (formerly the Qasqai +2). With Skoda jumping in with the Kodiaq and Hyundai/Kia battling with the Santa Fe/Sedona, VW are well-placed to make a success of this new vehicle.
Many of our customers have proffered that the Tiguan’s lack of space for the bigger family has made it an unrealistic option.
Particularly as household budgets become tighter (inflation/Brexit is settling in) people need a vehicle which serves a variety of purposes. Added to this, the VW is more aesthetically pleasing option against the Ford Galaxy/Seat Alhambra type vehicles.
