Is this the end of traffic jams?
Driverless cars are out and about on the streets of San Francisco and Pittsburgh, without other drivers even knowing. BMW for years now have had autonomous cars driving around their factories, with ever more capability each year.
Some of these even run on hydrogen.
Plans have been agreed with the UK government for self-driving cars to be on the roads by 2019, with several manufacturers already developing to be there at the start.
Driverless cars will make our roads safer as they remove driver error, the cause of most accidents, to virtually zero. Connected cars will allow you to start work the minute that you get into your car in the morning on your way to work. Being connected to each other, cars will geo locate to avoid queues and accidents with better fuel consumption than we ever thought possible. Driving tests and licenses will be a thing of the past…
Soon anyone can have a car.
