XL Hybrids is one of very few companies in the world that supply conversion kits for petrol trucks and pickups. A recent call for venture capital realised $22 million. In adition, IKEA, the Swedish Furniture company have invested in the company, although figures are yet to be disclosed.
Ikea sees potential in XL Hybrids, which has already sold its hybrid kits to Coca-Cola in the USA.
The new funds will help reduce costs and increase demand for its hybrid-truck designs. XL are now working on Plug-in hybrids.
