The third generation Skoda Octavia will be sat on the VW groups new platform, known as MQB. This base chassis can be varied in length and has already been used for the new Golf, the new Passat and the 2013 Skoda Yeti
The new Octavia is nearly four inches longer and two inches wider than its predecessor and Skoda claims class leading interior room and a great boot. Ideal attributes for a car funded on Business Contract Hire.
The boot is also large and at 590 litres is the biggest in this class. The new Octavia looks like it will also be superb for Personal Leasing, VW Group quality and great value should equate to great monthly payments
The launch engines are petrol, a 1.4’s with 120bhp and 138 bhp respectively and a 1.8 with 177 bhp. These are all the Tsi versions with economy of small engines and the power of a larger one. The diesels will be two 1.6’s and two 2.0 litres, these will be a couple of months later than the petrol units. Gearbox wise, we expect six speed manual and seven speed DSG. Estates are due in the Spring and a 4×4 Estate is due, we believe it will be labelled Scout and will go head to head with the A4 All Road and the Passat Alltrack
The Octavia launch is due in March with pricing from £14,000
