There are two leases for the same car side by side on the internet, you could be forgiven for thinking that they are from different planets. So how do you go about comparing them?
Length of lease: A car lease will usually last for 24, 36 or 48 months. Some companies are going to offer you 60 months. It wouldn’t be unusual for that car to be outside its manufacturer warranty for the last two years of the lease, so does it still look cheap?
Also be on the lookout for someone adding 6 months to the term in order to reduce your monthly rental.
Is it in fact the same car: A Fiesta 1.25 Zetec looks cheap if side by side with another lease deal. It is cheaper even though it is over the same period with the same initial rental.
But what if one is the new model and one is the old model?
Is the initial payment larger for the cheaper deal? If all else is the same, period, car, mileage per annum, a larger initial payment should mean lower monthly payments.
Annual mileage allowance. Normal mileage per annum for purpose of a quote is 10,000 miles. Make sure that you are not being quoted at 8,000 per annum or even less. It may not wuit your use and it may not be enough.
Make sure that the broker that you are dealing with is a current member of the BVRLA and take the time to read reviews such as Trustpilot and Google reviews.
