With a number of new models due to the market this year, Mazda is planning to re-launch the brand in the UK during 2014.
New models due in a hectic two year period will include a new Mazda 2, MX5, this year’s new Mazda 6, a new CX-5 and finally a new Mazda 3, about which the leasing industry is really excited.
The Mazda 6 and 3 have historically had strong residual values and all Mazda product is among the most reliable. As a result, the 3 and 6 always have had a strong following for high mileage leasing and this is not expected to change
The CX-5 won last years Auto Express crossover prize so the new one has great pedigree to build on. We ran on of the 171bhp diesels in 4×4 trim we still averaged better than 50 mpg
The new MX-5 is a joint venture with Alfa Romeo, who will launch a new Spider in 2015. Initial images are a little thin on the ground but we have had the odd one
The Mazda 3 has been given to several of us for testing and you will have to go a long way to find a bad word written about it. Key figures and points are, class leading interior space, great new 169 bhp diesel which will average over 70 mpg and a drive quality up with the very best. We expect the Hybrid to launch in 2014 but little is know about spec or performance
The Mazda 2 is due any time. The cute baby of the bunch is targeting the city car drivers with a new 1.2 petrol engine that is promising diesel like economy figures
