The ULEZ introduction has earned Transport for London over £200,000 per day.
Cars that are not compliant are costing their drivers £12.50 per day on top of the £11.50 congestion charge already levied.
Over 17,000 drivers are paying the charge, a figure which was not expected. HGV’s and buses are paying £100 each day.
On a positive note, over 74% of vehicles that entered the Ultra Low Emission Zone were compliant.
This points to a large decline in the number of polluting vehicles that used to enter London.
Operating 24 hours a day, ULEZ is on target to raise £73 million in year one. The aim of course is to reduce emission and not make money, some drivers are calling this into question.
