The Ford Transit Custom, 2013 Van of the Year, has had a high top version added which is over 20% larger inside. At just £489 more than the standard unit, this model expands the market for what is a superb van
It is available for ordering now, but deliveries are not expected to start until late November. The internal height of the high top Custom is 1.78m and the load volume has increased to 8.3 cubic metres
In the medium van market, it is unusual to find a high roof version at all, but it is a product that aligns the Custom with all of Ford’s other commercials and was probably expected. What is unusual though, is that the roof is steel and will take a roof rack. The bulkhead of the new high top maintains the new load-through hatch in the bulkhead, enabling loads of 3m in length to be carried. Also fitted on the new model is LED lighting inside he load area and a floor liner
The standard fit Duratorq TDCi with Start-Stop and two year service intervals is probably the cheapest van to run at this moment in time
