Car and van choice
Your company cars and company vans need not be all one manufacturer, if you give a choice by budget to your staff, carlease UK will source each one separately for you. Commonly with buying, in order to achieve your best deal, you have to buy all one manufacturer, seriously limiting your choices.
Sequence of events
After you have chosen your cars, you then choose your ideal mileage per annum and the term for which you would like to keep the vehicles. We will then fill out a proposal form, this is your company applying for a credit facility to lease the vehicles. Once we have your application approved and your credit in place we will raise an order form for the deal, this will allow us to reserve your vehicle at a dealership. At this stage, we will need to take proofs for the director who is going to sign the paperwork for the vehicles, this is normally a photo-driving licence and a utility bill.
The next stage is producing your documentation for your deal, these are signed by the company director, returned to us and we then agree a delivery date with you, this will be to your premises and is there is no charge.
Normally one week after delivery, your initial payment will be taken by direct debit. This will be followed one month later by the first of your monthly payments, then every month for the duration of your lease.
Other considerations
An initial payment (deposit) is three months payments in advance. This though can be six months if you choose to enhance your deposit. Your monthly payment will then be lower.
Once you have your new car, there is a period when your finance outstanding will be more than the value of the car in the event of a pay out from your insurance, in the event of the vehicle being written off or stolen. The difference can be covered with a GAP policy, a separate insurance policy that can be paid in one payment or monthly and covers you for the duration of your lease.
Business Car of the year
Each year, Business Car Manager run a competition to find the business car leasing car of the year. A judging panel, which this year included Vince Cable, judge cars on a list of criteria including tech, styling, efficiency and build quality. This year, the winner was the Vauxhall Insignia, especially the 2.0CDTi ecoFLEX, which unsurprisingly impressed the panel with a its 98g/km emissions and small car economy.
The Insignia is a car that we have supplied many of and I cannot think of one instance of a driver or owner being unhappy with the car.
One last thing
If you are member of staff and you have been given a choice of cash or car, Carlease UK have a video to explain the decision making process. <here> There is more to this calculation than seems immediately obvious as Andy Green explains in the video.
