Leasing a car or van has fast become one of the most popular ways of vehicle procurement.
Without doubt, enquiries and traffic on the internet now focuses around three main brands – Mercedes, BMW and Audi.
However, for personal customers, one of the initial stages of the process is to ascertain whether this is an affordable proposition and also whether credit would be available to you for the vehicle.
While you never own the vehicle with contract hire, the contract is a fixed term and so you are liable for the rentals for the duration of the term.
Before you proceed with us, or many finance companies, you will be asked to complete an affordability statement which will take into account your income and expenditure.
Decisions relating to your finances need to be taken seriously and you should not enter into a credit agreement if you do not believe this is an affordable proposition or if you may consider that your circumstances could change during the course of the agreement.
As part of the credit proposal stage, your credit will be reviewed using the finance company’s systems, including Experian, so do ensure you are aware of your credit position.
In particular, you need to ensure you can provide:
· your full name;
· date of birth;
· 5 year address history (including all addresses where you are registered on the electoral register);
· 3 year employment history; and
· bank details
If you have any concerns about your financial position, do seek independent or professional advice before committing to a brand-new vehicle…
