Choosing the right type of leasing deal for your needs and requirements is very important. There are a number of deal types which you need to consider, including:
· Stock vehicles – these are cars/vans which are held in the UK, or in Europe, and which can be delivered in anywhere up to 3 weeks from the point of order. Many offers which are UK held-vehicles are “pre-registered” which triggers the time for the warranty and MOT but does not mean that the car has been used by anyone else. Stock vehicles are ideal for those customers who need a vehicle straight away and cannot wait. However, these vehicles cannot be amended or altered from a specification perspective as they are already built. Many stock offers will be more cost-effective, as they need to be sold as a matter of urgency;
· Allocation vehicles – these are cars/vans which are due to be built or which have already been built in the relevant factory. Very much deliverable between 3 – 6 weeks from the point of order. These are a good option for those customers who are effectively planning the return and replacement of their vehicles circa 2-3 months before they are due off contract. In some cases, small amends can be made to the configuration of the vehicle so that you can create something more bespoke. Allocation deals do offer incredible value again, as these need to be sold before they arrive in the UK (at which point they may be registered). Remember that if you are in a rush for a vehicle, there is no control on the speed at which vehicles are built so do not use this if you need a vehicle asap; and
· Factory-order – these are cars/vans which are built according to your specific needs and requirements. This is for those customers who want a bespoke vehicle which is built for them. Vehicles will deliverable between 6 – 24 weeks’ from the point of order, depending on the vehicle/manufacturer. While there is no issue in ordering a vehicle on a factory order basis, you again need to consider when exactly you require a vehicle. This is not for a situation where time is of the essence, so make sure your accurately plan your car. If you are in a vehicle already, you can check if an “informal extension” is available so that you can guarantee a vehicle until the new one arrives. Very few offers are based on factory order deals.
